Dialects: |
Cantonese, the principal dialect used by 54 million people in southern China, Hong Kong, Macau, South East Asia, Canada, USA and South America.
Mandarin, the official dialect of China is used by 800 million Chinese daily in Taiwan and all of China and other parts of the world.

Children, youth, teens and adult classes. Beginning, intermediate and advanced. We offer small classes with personalized instruction. |
Taught by native born speakers using correct, precise, natural pronunciation and intonation of the standard version of the dialect. This provides students with a solid foundation of the language. Success reate depends on how much motivation one has, how fast one learns, how much time one devotes to study.

⇓ Student Rules of Conduct |
General Rules
- All students must respect CSSD rules, administrators, teachers, and fellow students.
- No gum chewing, shouting, or any other disruptive behavior allowed.
- Students may not transfer between classes without prior approval by Principal.
- Students are expected to help keep CSSD grounds and classrooms clean at all times.
- Students are expected to attend every Saturday, from School Assembly at 9am and remain on CSSD campus until noon. Students are not allowed off campus.
- Frequent tardiness may result in Principal requesting a meeting with parents.
- Inappropriate language, fighting, or violent behavior will NOT be tolerated.
- Absolutely no firearms, knives, weapons, any form of explosives, illegal drugs, cigarettes, or alcoholic beverages allowed at School. Any such violations are causes for immediate expulsion and may be reported to police authorities.
- If students wish to withdraw from CSSD, students and/or parents must notify their teacher & CSSD administration. School tuition is non-refundable.
- School Uniforms
- All students must wear school uniform to school.
- Students must wear appropriate attire. (i.e. no ripped clothing, no hats, etc.)
- New students are issued a free uniform at beginning of school year.
- Returning students must wear their previously issued uniform or purchase a new uniform.
- Students must purchase, at their own expense, another uniform to replace their lost uniform.
- Disciplinary Action

- Third Violation � Dismissal from CSSD and notation on student record
- Teachers may temporarily suspend disruptive students and/or notify their parents.
Rules Inside Classrooms
- Respect and follow your teacher's directions.
- Students should sit properly and remain attentive in class.
- No visitors are allowed in class without prior approval of Principal & teacher.
- Students must return desks and chairs to their original position.
- No eating or drinking allowed inside classrooms.
- Properly care for all classroom equipment, books, notes, wall decorations.
- Students are responsible for their own personal belongings.
- Students and their parents are responsible for any damage to school property.
Rules Outside Classroom (Includes Campus and Office Building Grounds)
- Listen and follow all security instructions.
- No climbing, running, or damage to surrounding office building stairs or grounds.
- Only play in designated areas during recess.

General Rules
- Teachers are expected to maintain classroom decorum.
- Teachers must wear their Chinese Teacher's uniform, issued by CSSD.
- Teachers must attend Principal meeting 30 minutes prior to school assembly.
- Teachers share responsibility in maintaining the safety of CSSD students.
- Teachers must wait until all parents have picked up their students before leaving.
- Be available for parents to discuss student's progress or concerns after school.
- Teachers must volunteer and rotate shifts to supervise student safety during recess and after school, when parents pick up students.
- Teachers are expected to help keep CSSD grounds and classrooms clean at all times.
- If students wish to withdraw from CSSD, teachers must notify School Principal. School tuition is non-refundable.
- Teachers are required to know and encourage their students to abide by Student Rules of Conduct.

No withdrawals allowed after the first two weeks of CSSD school year has begun.

Students must follow Chinese School of San Diego school rules and policies.

VII. Student Responsibilities |

Students are responsible for picking up any necessary forms (e.g. Off Campus Study Form or the Independent Study Form) from their individual school's counselor office.
Students are responsible for notifying CSSD Administration, CSSD teacher, and their individual high school of their desire to withdraw from CSSD High School Credit Program within the first two weeks of the semester.
